What's Included

What’s Included

When it comes to what’s included in Kara Mia’s Italian travel packages, we cover everything you need, as well as the things you didn’t realize you’d want. From gratuities, to meals, to support, we aim to take the stresses – big and small – out of your vacation, allowing you to soak in all the pleasures Italy has to offer.

Two or More Experienced Guides

We match the best local guides with our guides to make each experience authentic and personalized. The service, knowledge, passion, fun and flexible attitude, as well as the local connections, that our guides have make each and every trip the vacation of a lifetime.

The Best Wheels -Cannondale (or similar brand)

Hybrid or Road bicycle- your choice.

You can’t enjoy a great biking trip without a really great bike. Your bike isn’t an afterthought or an extra; we build it into the price of your trip. And it really is your bike: tailored to your height, weight and riding specifications. It even has your name on it. We also supply carbon fiber road bikes and E-bikes at a modest additional cost. Please note E-bikes are available first come, first served basis. Please call for details.

Exceptional Accommodations

Each and every night you’ll retreat to the best hotels in the region. Enjoy 4 star and up (Relais and Chateaux accommodations on some trips) to help you recharge for another exciting day ahead.

Exquisite Meals

All breakfasts, all dinners ( except for one) and 3 lunches are included in the price of your trip. On each trip guests are given the opportunity to dine on their own so that they can discover a location independently. Of course, your guides will provide you with a list of their favorite restaurants to try.

Social Hour

On the first evening of your trip, and most evenings thereafter, we host a social hour to give everyone a chance to get better acquainted, boosting the fun and camaraderie of the group.

Snacks and Drinks for Each Day’s Ride

We offer a spread of snacks and treats to take with you for the day each morning, with recovery beverages and bars being some of them. If you have any special requests, don’t hesitate to let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Private Tours, Wine Tastings, Cooking Classes, and More

We don’t want you to miss anything – it’s all a part of being exposed to the region after all. All of the cultural events that are mentioned in your itinerary are covered in the cost of your trip. Your shopping spree down the streets of Venice is not – although we have some recommendations on the best deals.

Van Support

We support you both on and off the bike. We always have one guide in our support vehicle and the other cycling along side you. They’ll fill up your water bottles, change your tire, call for a shuttle or shuttle you up the hill, provide you with local insights and make sure everyone is on the right track. Off the bike, your guides are at your service to help you with anything you need, carrying your purchases from day, wine suggestions, or finding that special local treat you’re craving.

The Details

We take the time necessary to investigate and research a region so that all the hiccups are smoothed out. All you have to do is enjoy the hidden cultural gems, smooth and scenic routes, mouth-watering meals, and all the memorable local personalities we’ve come to befriend.

Transportation During the Trip

While on your vacation, we get you from A to B. Our trips often take place off the beaten track to introduce you to the real Italy. So on our luxury trips we provide transportation both at the beginning and at the end of your trip from our quaint region to our centrally located meeting place. On our explorer trips, we establish a convenient meeting place.

Luggage Transfers

We will ensure that your bags are safely delivered to your hotel room. Along with any purchases you make along the way – carrying a bottle of olive oil can get heavy on your bike!

Guest Packet

We want you to be able to visualize your trip before even leaving home. Once you’ve booked your trip we send you a detailed PDF, trip-specific Guest Packet. This document is a window to your holiday with a complete description of our day-to-day activities and our accommodations. We also include the answers to many of your questions — even those questions you haven’t even had a chance to ponder. What to pack? How to train? We’ve got it planned and covered for you.

We’ve covered the monetary thank-yous deserving of our drivers, local experts and hospitality staff.

Trip Consultation

We dedicate time to learn about you and your individual needs. We want to answer all of your questions and aid you in choosing a trip that suits you.

Reminder and Planning Email One Week Before Your Trip

To put any of your last-minute concerns at ease, we send you an email one week prior to your trip that includes the names and phone numbers of your guides. We also remind you of our meeting location, list any final changes and give you other details such as the most current weather conditions. Nothing is left to chance.

Please refer to ’FAQ’’ section of the particular trip you are interested for all the specifics.

For those seeking a little bit more, these are some extra options available.

Single Supplement

For solo travelers who prefer a room to themselves, we offer a Single Supplement (price varies by destination) to ensure you are comfortable in your own room throughout your trip. We do make every effort to match you with another solo traveller in which case we will not charge a single supplement.

Pre and Post Travel

We have lists of recommended places to see and stay – we’d be happy to share them with you at your request.

Trip Insurance

We highly recommend trip insurance to protect you in case of cancellation, travel interruptions and medical emergencies on your trip. For more information, we’d be happy to offer recommendations of travel policies and insurance companies.
